Hi everyone! I am Natalie and I am the Marketing and Communications Manager at SCL Student Bytes.

Who I am

I am currently a first-year LLB law student at St Chad's College, Durham University. My interest in discovering the dynamics between law and technology stemmed from the many examples I see in my daily life in Hong Kong. Participating in the InnoTech expo two years ago in Hong Kong, I witnessed the innovative development of technology and that role it plays into our daily lives to aid our daily functions. From online banking to virtual court trials, there is no doubt that the UK has a stronger focus on integrating technology into our society to maximise efficiency. Aiming to discover the interaction between technology and law, I have completed two legal experiences in commercial law firms and chambers which sparked my interest in building a career path in the legal sector. I am currently a sub-committee member of DUHKPASS in which I assisted in the preparation of their upcoming virtual forum on the issue of National Security Law.

As the captain of my school's mock trial team and a member of the MUN team, I have assisted in managing our social media pages, posting regular updates and information on our Facebook and Instagram accounts. Other than being a frequent social media user, I enjoyed creating these promotional materials and hope to utilise and transfer the same skills for SCL Student Bytes. With my current position as a contributor at Durham's online student magazine Bubble, I hope to contribute to this student-led society to expand my knowledge and horizon in this field.

What I do

My responsibilities include managing our external partnerships and collaborations; monitoring  our mailbox and expanding our brand image.
